The Housemaid By Freida McFadden
The Housemaid 5/5
Freida McFadden…WOW. This book is excellent and a perfect thriller. This is one of my favourite books that I have read. The book has so many twists and turns, that it keeps you guessing until the end. The book follows Millie navigating a rich family and their secrets. Nina and Andrew Winchester are part of that rich family and they have a daughter called Celeila however, nothing is as it seems.
The book has so many twists and turns, that you do not suspect anything which leaves you with the urge to read more and finish this thriller. The characters are very well-written, you can picture the characters in your mind. One of my favourite aspects of the book is that Freida McFadden allows you to use your imagination and picture the scene playing out in your mind which shows how powerful her writing is. In every chapter (no matter how short it is) you discover something new and a new secret with the characters. Therefore, not all chapters are boring or overly long which I love with this book. Some thrillers tend to be too overly descriptive with long chapters which makes it hard to read sometimes and harder to feel anything for the characters. This book would make an amazing series or film, the characters, the plot, the secrets I believe it would be quite popular. It is quite hard to write a review about this book without giving away everything you have learnt but I would recommend this book to people who love thrillers and dark topics. I would additionally recommend this book to people who find it hard to read books and lose concentration often. I read this book within 4 days and as someone who finds it quite hard to fully get into books without losing concentration, this book was so easy to read and I felt excited about reading more/finishing it. Everything about this book I enjoyed immensely, the characters, the plot, the twists. It kept me guessing right until the end and my mouth was in pure shock throughout. Freida McFadden is an author to which I will be returning to, she has a few more books which I am going to read and I am looking forward to reading them.
